Our skiing and snowboarding season in Iceland starts in February, but lasts with generally excellent corn skiing and the occasional powder dump until the end of June. The fact that the Troll Peninsula is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean makes for incredible opportunities for skiing right down to the ocean on stable coastal snowpack but also adds the excitement of Arctic weather and conditions. Throw in a mix of Northern lights, midnight sun, volcanic activity, hot springs, lava fields and a unique Viking culture and you will find that Iceland is a true adventure skiing destination.

The Troll Peninsula and the Hidden Land are every skier's dream, with around 90% of the mountains skiable and very few cliff faces or flat sections. The terrain ranges from steep couloirs and faces to wide-open glacier runs.

Semi-private package – Heliski Iceland
We offer 4 and 7 days Semi Private trips. Semi-private means that the helicopter is shared with a second group. We operate with a maximum of two groups simultaneously, where each group consists of between 4 people.
The Heli-skiing opportunity gives your trip a huge potential to be able to reach those enormous and hard-to-read areas by air and our guides will guarantee that you will be offered the best off- piste skiing available for each excursion.

Raven Hill Lodge
Klængshóll Lodge, located in Skíðadalur Valley (Ski Valley), is our main base of operations and ancestral home. The lodge is a historic sheep farm continuously inhabited since the Viking settlement of Iceland around 850 AD. The last sheep farmers at Klængshóll were the grandparents of Arctic Heli Skiing founder Jökull Bergmann, who grew up on the farm working as a shepherd in the Troll Peninsula.
The Klængshóll property includes four cabins, the main farmhouse, the bathhouse and the barn. Built in the late 1950s, the farmhouse retains its traditional character with a spacious kitchen and dining room—the heart of family life—and bedrooms of various sizes. The whitewashed exterior and bright red roof reflect the timeless style of traditional Icelandic farmhouses.

Itinerary
- Day 1 – Arrival day
– Pick up at Akureyri in the late afternoon followed by a 40 min transfer to Karlsá Lodge for meet & greet.
– Welcome dinner. - Day 2
– The morning is spent on detailed transceiver and avalanche rescue training
– Helicopter safety instruction.
– First peak drop off - Day 3-4 / 3-6
– Our guides set the pace and rhythm of the program so that everyone enjoys the fullest. After each day of skiing we will relax and enjoy Klængshóll Lodge lounging in the hot tub, relaxing in the sauna or having a great massage - Day 5 or 7 – Departure Day
– Last day of skiing. After a good breakfast and sorting out our luggage we head out for our final day. After skiing we transport you back to Akureyri.

FAQ
All heliskipackages are based on helicopter time stated in the reservation, NOT vertical metres. The vertical metres is only used as a guideline to show how much we are able to ski if the conditions are good.
You should be a good skier or boarder with experinence from offpiste or backcontry skiing.
In average a good skier or boarder skis about 7-8 000 vertical metres per day.
All skiing or boarding is performed above treeline in high alpine terrain.
On location we offer a variation of downday activities, ski-touring, resort skiing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, speedboat, ice climbing and kite-skiing etc.
All helicopter time that is not used due to bad weather is refunded accordingly to our terms & conditions.
We operate with 4:1 guide ratio and maximum 2 groups per helicopter.
Yes, it does not effect our choice of terrain or effect your experience with us.
At Metro Lodge in Riksgränsen there are always doctors available.
The Metro Lodge has wifi in the Lounge and in all rooms.
On location we accept most credit cards. Entry fee and final payment are made against invoice via bank transfer.
Sweden use type C, which is the narrow contact that is also called Europlug and the larger contact of type F, which also has a ground connection.
It is possible to extend the stay but not with accommodation at the Lodge because of new arrivals. We are happy to help recommend and book other accommodation.
