From panoramic summit views to capturing the world’s best selfie, this is a ski touring adventure unlike any other.

Two ways to experience ski-touring in Greenland

A live-aboard ski-touring expedition in Greenland

Offers one of the world's most extraordinary mountain adventures. Combining the comfort of an expedition vessel with access to remote Arctic terrain, this style of travel allows skiers to explore untouched peaks rising directly from the sea while waking up each morning in a new fjord.

Unlike land-based trips, the vessel serves as both accommodation and transportation, providing the freedom to reach mountain ranges that are otherwise inaccessible. Each day begins with a short Zodiac transfer from the ship to the shoreline, where the ski tour starts just above sea level.

Staying on an expedition ship provides several key advantages:

  • The sense of adventure
  • The freedom to reach mountain ranges that are otherwise inaccessible
  • High level of comfort
  • A unique expedition atmosphere
  • Possibility of a tailored food and beverage experience

Land based set-up using fast Targa boats for daily trips

Ski touring in Greenland using day trips by Targa boats offers one of the most spectacular ways to experience the country's dramatic alpine terrain. The concept is simple: a fast, seaworthy Targa boat transports skiers from a land-based lodge or hotel typically around Nuuk, Maniitsoq or the Disko Bay region to mountains that rise directly from the shoreline.

Unlike a traditional ski cruise, where guests live aboard an expedition vessel, this format allows skiers to return to comfortable accommodation on land after each day.

A fast Targa boat provides several key advantages:

  • Rapid access to multiple fjords and mountain ranges
  • The flexibility to choose the best snow conditions based on weather and wind
  • A warm, comfortable cabin for transportation between tours
  • The ability to adjust objectives quickly if avalanche conditions, sea ice, or weather change
  • An opportunity to discover the Greenlandic culture on land

Ski-touring area

Svalbard is located between 75-80 ° North latitude.  The climate is affected by the archipelago's location in the Northern Arctic Ocean, where a branch of the Gulf stream current flows up past Svalbard's western and partly northern coastline. This combined with the other surrounding cooler sea water is the main contributing factor to the regions abundance & wide variety of breathtaking wildlife.

Access is generally by boat. Sea ice conditions, which can change extremely quickly, can dictate which areas are accessible or not but you can rest assure that our personnel will do everything they can to give you the experience of a life time.

The skiable terrain offers almost 3,000 km of accessible coastline and 40,000 km2 of untouched terrain.
