Experience the northern latitudes by boat in a magical Arctic environment. We offer ski-touring trips to Greenland during May. "Earn your turns" – using our own power, we skin, climb and ski inaccessible mountain areas that can only be reached from the sea.
Your understanding of this landscapes vastness, will change with each passing day as you embark on this journey along enchanting, remote and untouched snowy paths under the midnight sun. After all your hard work, you will be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view from the mountain summits. Once at the top, you’ll catch your breath, take the worlds best selfie and gaze around you in awe at this truly amazing landscape.

We offer 7 day trips to Greenland with our expedition vessel, Terschelling "The Polarship". Our trips can only be booked for closed parties of a minimum 5 people and a maximum of 12 people.
Greenland offers a fascinating backcountry skiing experience. Between the Atlantic and the Arctic Oceans, this huge island has a wide array of exciting features. Majestic & wild unexplored terrain with great snow conditions provides the opportunity for amazing skiing from a mountain’s summit all the way down to the water’s edge, where you can enjoy the vibrant & rich local culture.

Greenland is located between the 59° - 83°N parallels, which finds itself, lying between the Atlantic and Arctic oceans and is the world's largest island.
This vast area combined with a population of around of 56,000 inhabitants gives a population density of almost 39 square kilometers per person and with most of the islands inhabitants living in coastal areas, provides the perfect place for those of us who like ski-touring with an adventurous touch of freedom. The perfect environment to be active, or quite simply, relax whilst admiring one of the worlds most breathtaking countries. Our ski-touring area is located on the west coast between Maniitsoq and Sisimiut.
The air quality in Greenland is among the best in the world due to the country's geographical position and, for the most, untouched wilderness.

Our vessel in Greenland – Terschelling
Terschelling Arctic Expedition Ship was built in the Netherlands in 1963, the ship was meticulously constructed to meet the rigorous standards set by the Lloyds Register for Ice Class 1 vessels. Named after the picturesque West Frisian Island, where it was stationed, the vessel was orginally commissioned by the Dutch Coastguard to serve as a buoy layer and lightship tender in one of the world’s most treacherous bodies of water - the North Sea.
Now, under new ownership, Terschelling embarks on a new chapter as an Arctic Expedition Ship, where its seafaring capabilities, ice class hull and dependable engine will be harnessed to transport guests to remote, ice-laden regions of the world. The ship has undergone a transformative process, with the construction of of a spacious and cozy saloon on the deck, spanning 70 square meters. This welcoming space is adorned with large 800x600mm windows, offering guests the opportunity to revel in the awe-inspiring sights of ice, mountains and fjords.

The ship holds six ensuite cabins, providing guests with a serene haven to rejuvenate after exhilarating days of skiing. On deck sauna and hot tub awaits after a full day on the mountain.
Ensuring your safety and convenience, our new fleet of Zodiacs comprises 5,3m military-grade inflatable boats, equipped with 60HP outboard engines. These reliable vessels will transport you from the ship to shore.

We offer 7 day trips to Svalbard. Our trips can only be booked for closed parties of a minimum 5 people and a maximum of 10 people.
Svalbard, the home of polar bears. Here, a feeling of being visiting occurs. The wildlife is close and traveling by boat in this fantastic environment is something very special. At these northern latitudes, the sun never sets during the spring and summer months. Endless mountain peaks with indented fjords offer a skiing experience beyond the ordinary.
On board motor cruisers we travel through a magical landscape perfect for ski-touring.

Svalbard is located between 75-80 ° North latitude. The climate is affected by the archipelago's location in the Northern Arctic Ocean, where a branch of the Gulf stream current flows up past Svalbard's western and partly northern coastline. This combined with the other surrounding cooler sea water is the main contributing factor to the regions abundance & wide variety of breathtaking wildlife.
Access is generally by boat. Sea ice conditions, which can change extremely quickly, can dictate which areas are accessible or not but you can rest assure that our personnel will do everything they can to give you the experience of a life time.
The skiable terrain offers almost 3,000 km of accessible coastline and 40,000 km2 of untouched terrain.
The combination of living on a boat and skiing in this landscape is truely magical and enriching

You should be a good skier or boarder with experience from off-piste and backcountry skiing.
In average 800-1500 vertical meters per day.
All skiing or boarding is performed above treeline in high alpine terrain.
If weather stops us from ski-touring we have the option to relax on the boat, offering deep sea fishing, zodiac excursions etc.
On our Ski by boat trips no refund is offered.
We operate with 5:1 guide ratio and a maximum of two groups per trip so 10 persons total.
Yes, it does not effect our choice of terrain or effect your experience with us.
We have no doctor on board the boat. Closest doctor is based in Longyearbyen.
No, and no GSM cover except close to Longyearbyen. Sat.phone can be borrowed from us if very important calls.
On the boat everything is included except alcoholic drinks (this is invoiced post trip) so no payments on onboard the boat is necessary. Entry fee and final payment are made against invoice via bank transfer.
In Svalbard the power plugs and sockets are of type C, F, E and K. The standard voltage is 230 V and the same works on the boat.
