Riksgränsen is located at 68°N, 200km north of the Polar circle just at the boarder to Norway.
The area we operate in consists of 8000 square km of alpine skiing terrain. It offers a great variety of skiing and it is dominated by alpine peaks up to 2100 metres high. We can choose from more than 100 unique peaks with a vertical drop from 600-1500 metres depending on our clients needs and levels of skiing experience.
Arctic Elements operates with Agusta Westland Koala 119 with a passager capacity of 6 clients and the AS 350 (A-star) with a passenger capacity of 4 clients. Both helicopters combine safety and comfort with speed and performance in order to provide our clients with only the very best in heli-skiing experiences.

Semi-private package
We offer 3, 4 and 7 days Semi Private trips. Semi-private means that the helicopter is shared with a second group. We operate with a maximum of two groups simultaneously, where each group consists of between 4-6 people.
These trips are perfect if you are traveling alone or with a group of friends, as we will fill up the helicopter to complete the groups and maximize the experience.
The Heli-skiing opportunity gives your trip a huge potential to be able to reach those enormous and hard-to-read areas by air and our guides will guarantee that you will be offered the best off- piste skiing available for each excursion.

Metro lodge
Meteorologen Ski-Lodge in the legendary mountain resort of Riksgränsen. The “Metro” is housed in a century old timber building, that use to be a meteorology station. Lovingly & carefully restored to become a comfortable and cozy small Boutique hotel, where it's easy to feel at home.
The Metro staff, have developed very good services and amenities with heli-skiers in mind and offer a variety of delicious gourmet foods, which are all locally sourced.
The "Metro" has 13 rooms of varying sizes and design. In total there are 20 beds spread between four single and eight double rooms. There is also a massage room at the lodge, where all our guests can receive treatments and soften up those muscles, after a full day of skiing.

– Departure day (Thursday or Sunday depending on package)
– Check out 11.00 from the Lodge on departure day
– The day of departure also works as a ski day until 15.00

FAQ
All heliskipackages are based on helicopter time stated in the reservation, NOT vertical metres. The vertical metres is only used as a guideline to show how much we are able to ski if the conditions are good.
You should be a good skier or boarder with experinence from offpiste or backcontry skiing.
In average a good skier or boarder skis about 7-8 000 vertical metres per day.
All skiing or boarding is performed above treeline in high alpine terrain.
On location we offer a variation of downday activities, ski-touring, resort skiing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, speedboat, ice climbing and kite-skiing etc.
All helicopter time that is not used due to bad weather is refunded accordingly to our terms & conditions.
We operate with 6:1, 5:1 or 4:1 guide ratio depending on the helicopter used.
Yes, it does not effect our choice of terrain or effect your experience with us.
At Metro Lodge in Riksgränsen there are always doctors available.
The Metro Lodge has wifi in the Lounge and in all rooms.
On location we accept most credit cards. Entry fee and final payment are made against invoice via bank transfer.
Sweden use type C, which is the narrow contact that is also called Europlug and the larger contact of type F, which also has a ground connection.
It is possible to extend the stay but not with accommodation at the Lodge because of new arrivals. We are happy to help recommend and book other accommodation.

From Narvik Harstad/Evenes Airport approx. 1,5h, from Kiruna airport approx. 2 hours. Due to current weather and road conditions the transfer time can vary.
Private package
We offer 3, 4 and 7 days Private trips. When booking a Private trip the helicopter is booked only for you and your group. No other people or groups are integrated into sharing your helicopter. Our Private trips are suitable for small groups with up to a maximum of 6 people.
Our Private packages gives us maximum flexibility during the days out in the mountains, where we can focus on giving you only the very best skiing experience, that is most suited for your level of skiing. You will have your own guide and your own helicopter threw out your stay and we can adjust your daily itinerary to suit your personal preferences & requests.
With our full attention on you and your friends, we’ll have greater freedom to reach those more remote places and areas where we normally don't go. More helicopter time, more skiing, ski what you want - when you want!
